Work starts on the War Memorial Clock

Good morning all, the good news is that the work on the War Memorial clock has started - Great news as you may have heard one of the bells ringing to say the restoration is in progress. Although we have a 5K shortfall the 80-year-old clock will be working once again reminding the people of Withernsea (who paid for the clock back in 1945 - installed in 1947), raising £532 in two weeks - equivalent to £29,00.00 in today’s money.

One shoutout to Peter Cook MBE who looked after the clock for a year before passing the custodianship to Russell Mathers and myself. One Big shout out to “Big Local” who help the project along with a £25k Grant.
